Biography  

Flaviano Rossi’s outstanding concert career has led him to play with prestigious orchestras and important musical associations. He studied with M° G. Montrucchio and took his diploma in 1990 at the Conservatorio "G. Verdi" in Milan. In 1991 he won a European Community scholarship and earned a certificate of merit from the School of Musical Specialization in Castiglione delle Stiviere with B. Cavallo and G. Cambursano. He has also studied with M. Larrieu, P. Gallois and J. Galway. He has been profoundly influenced by his studies and friendship with C. Klemm. After winning a number of competitions, he began his career as orchestra flautist, collaborating with the following orchestras and chamber music groups: the Orchestra della RAI, the CARME Società Italiana di Musica da Camera, Il Quartettone, the Ente Autonomo del Teatro alla Scala, the Orchestra Stabile in Bergamo, the Filarmonica Italiana, the Orchestra da Camera Milano Classica, the Orchestra Sinfonica di S. Cecilia in Rome, the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Verdi in Milan and the Orchestra Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan.

He was then involved in various radio and CD recordings (Amadeus, BMG, ARTS, DECCA, EMI) with renowned directors like Abbado, Chailly, Santi, Ceccato, Maazel, Vedernicov, Pretre, Sado and Renzetti. Over the past few years, Flaviano Rossi has been engaged intensely in chamber music and solo performances in Europe, which have led to the following CD recordings: The Romantic Classics, The Pearls of Baroque and I Virtuosi di Milano.
Since 2000 Flaviano Rossi has undertaken an intensive chamber music and soloist activity, with a particularly happy collaboration with pianist and director Daniel Moos with whom he recorded three CDs: The Romantic Classics, The Pearls of Baroque and the Virtuosi di Milano.
Flaviano Rossi is a founder of Polychrome a modern and unconventional project, inspired by the jazz and pop repertoire, reinterpreting it as classical music for flute quartet and piano.
